Just how important is Twitter to marketing? According to a public radio newscast I heard recently, it’s twitteriffic. Just ask the owner of Kogi Korean BBQ-To-Go, In a city dominated by the commute, a tweeted location turns into a neighborhood block party as fans and followers of Kogi receive location tweets for the rolling Korean Taco Trucks. And business is booming. Of course, it helps that the food apparently rocks.
But I think the sense of community – one that reaches outside the boundaries of a cell phone or computer screen, is exciting too. It is proof that the art of conversation isn’t dead. After all, if you and all your Twitter compadres decide to meet at the Kogi truck, I’m pretty sure the conversation won’t be limited to 140 characters per person.
