Augmented Reality is Here!

Augmented reality puts 3-D objects literally in the palm of your hand. It has a ton of marketing potential and is about to break loose compliments of James Cameron and his AVATAR movie. Coke Zero has a cool promotion, and the AVATAR toys feature augmented reality figures from the movie. Wired, Esquire, and General Electric have also done interesting examples. Check out the links to see for yourself, pretty cool!

Dayton Airport Mega Mural

Don’t miss the gigantic new mural that the Nova crew just completed at the Dayton International Airport. It has a prime location over the security and exit areas.

To ensure that the wall graphic set the right tone, the Dayton International Airport sought input from Ron Kaplan, executive director of the National Aviation Hall of Fame and Anthony Sculimbrene, executive director of the National Aviation Heritage Alliance, as well as John Bosch, president and CEO of Commander Aero at the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport.

Here are some fun facts:
- The mural measures a huuuuge 42′x24′!
- The inventors of the first practical airplane, Wilbur and Orville Wright, as well a four significant planes are featured.
- Orville’s head is quite large at 8.5′ across.

Be the first to identify the planes and I will send you an Nova mug!

All I want for Christmas is a Content Management System

Who likes to wait? During the holidays I dread standing in lines at the mall or even the grocery. The lines just seem to get longer the closer we get the holidays.

Getting changes done by your web team can be equally as painful. We often have to get in line to get our changes done and have to wait until it’s our turn. Well content management changes all that. Here are five reasons you will love to have a “CMS” if you don’t already have one:

  1. Speed: Make changes yourself. No waiting for the Web team to acknowledge that you exist or that your changes are done. No checking up. It just gets done, period. More time for “Christmas Punch”.
  2. Cost: If you are using an outside source, costs pile up quickly. More bucks for that new I-Phone.
  3. Add pages: Expand your site quickly and easily. More savings for your marketing budget.
  4. SEO: Get found. Your CMS can have a database driven structure for web site SEO friendly URLs
  5. Feel good: Dang…it was pretty easy! Less stress and I learned something new I can put on the old resume…mmmmmm

If you have a blog, like WordPress or Blogger, you kind of get the idea. They have CMS built right in.

A CMS is a must have for any Christmas list. If you are lucky you may get more than fruitcake this year!
