Find Your Yoda

Happy New Year! With the New Year comes the question of “Do I create a list of resolutions or not?” If you’re like me, you listed the normal stuff – exercise more and eat less.

How about posing a resolution to learn this year? Yes, a resolution to absorb knowledge. If so, what type of knowledge would you like to absorb? Is there a Yoda in your life that could pass on nuggets of knowledge? You know the knowledge – the kind that can only be gained by experience. Not the stuff we can get from an app or from reading our Kindles – this is the real valuable stuff – the stuff we get from relationships, by sharing, listening and even becoming a bit vulnerable. We all have Yoda types in our lives…find them and share. To quote the voice of the force… “Do or do not… there is no try.”

Holiday Recipes and Decorating Tips

Cutout Sugar Cookies

This sugar cookie recipe came straight from Cookie Monster himself many years ago when I was a little girl. My mom makes them every year, and I can’t wait to make and decorate them this year with my own children. It’s a classic. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
Pour sugar over butter, with fork squash butter and sugar together.
2 eggs (pour eggs over mixture)
1 tsp vanilla (blend everything together with fork)
2 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Mix everything together, chill in fridge for at least 1 hour.
Roll dough out and cut in fun shapes.
Put it in the oven at 350 for about 10 min.

Decorating Tip

(compliments of Dwayne Swormstedt)
Create a splashy showcase for your favorite Christmas ornaments by perching them atop assorted candlesticks. Unify the display by using ornaments with a similar color palette and candlesticks that are similar in color or shape.

Tom Turkey Takes Ten to Help

It’s that time of year again… turkey, stuffing, gravy, the works! And typically at this time, we would be giving away a turkey. This year we’ve decided to do things a little differently. Instead of the traditional giveaway, we’ll be donating Tom Turkey to the Adult Interim Care Home located in Montgomery County, Ohio. This facility provides interim services to residents with developmental disabilities who have a need for emergency housing until a more appropriate place can be found for them to live. You can learn more about this amazing organization at their site.

Until next year, have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Manage your campaign? There’s a CAS for that!

Ever wish you had program that would manage your marketing campaigns as well as your CRM manages your contacts? Well, your wish has been granted. It started with a vision I had of providing my clients with a way to monitor and evaluate marketing campaigns with ease. This program is so cool. It gives the user the ability to select from multiple campaigns, provides complete transparency from the top down, gives real time information and can even track how you, as sales person, stack up in the heat. All I had to do was wave my magic wand over our programming wizard and…poof… it was done! Now all I have to do is have a vision on how to develop a program that can relay all of my visions without talking to my program wizard…and believe me he would like that too. Get on it Jon!
